I started my grooming journey when I was 21. What was supposed to be a job to get me through college turned into my passion and career. 27 years later, I still absolutely love what I do. In this time I worked in several salons, mobile and stationary. I acquired valuable skills from many other incredible groomers, and eventually came up with my own methods, styles, and standards. There are always new things to learn in the pet grooming industry, so I often attend classes and workshops, I’m always striving to be a better groomer. I have many years of experience with various breeds of dogs and cats. I’m familiar with different coat types and conditions, and can advise the best treatment and style for any breed of pet. I have had experience with dog training, and know some amazing trainers, who have taught me to understand and communicate with each pet. I have found that patience is key. A happy dog is a cooperative dog, and that is the ONLY way to get the best results.
For 15 years I owned and operated a mobile grooming business in San Diego, California, and have been extremely successful. My former business Spaw Day achieved 5 star reviews which still appear on Yelp. I recently decided to move home to Maine!

This is where the magic happens. My mobile grooming salon was custom made with every dogs need in mind. It is important to have a safe and clean environment for the pet and groomer alike.
Upon entry into the salon, the dog has the option of going up the ramp into the tub, or stepping up on the hydraulic table. Often, the bigger ones feel comfortable with the ramp, and hop into the tub with ease. There is enough room in the bus for multiple dogs, even the biggest breed!
Keeping the pets safe is my priority. When in the salon the door is always closed, and the air temperature is always maintained at a comfortable level. When being worked on, the pet is safely tethered to the wall while being bathed or groomed, and never left alone. In the event I need to walk out of arms length, the dog will be allowed to roam on the floor unleashed. Often times dogs will come to enjoy the bus, and run up and down the ramp, and into the tub without being asked! They truly enjoy the freedom of running around in their very own salon!

PAYMENT
APPOINTMENTS AND CANCELLATIONS
Your appointment is very important to me, and I will do my best to communicate with you to avoid cancellations and fees.
REOCCURRING CLIENTS
After your initial appointment, I will schedule you on a reoccurring basis. I will text you the next appointment day as soon as possible after the first groom. I will be scheduling along with other appointments in your area, so please let me know as soon as possible if the appointment needs to be changed. Overly frequent changes may result in removal of reoccurring appointments. Please check this date on your calendar and let me know immediately if there is a conflict. With ample notice I can usually reschedule this date for you.
AGGRESSIVE DOGS OR CATS
I am able to work with most nervous pets, but I will not work on a dog or cat that is aggressive, for my safety as well as the pets’. If I arrive and the pet is showing aggressive behavior, I will unfortunately not be able to groom the pet, and will charge you the full amount! If you believe your pet may be aggressive, please contact me for other recommendations. Some vets might be able to offer a sedative and groom the dog in the veterinary clinic. My livelihood depends on my ability to work, therefore I cannot risk being injured! Please be open and honest on your pet’s behaviors.
MATTING AND SKIN CONDITIONS
Sometimes matting on a pet can be very obvious, and sometimes it isn’t noticed until the grooming process has begun. I will always notify you if there is a necessary shave down before starting. Matting on a pet is painful, and trying to demat excessive matting is inhumane, and will cause grooming issues in the future. I can usually get out reasonable mats, but I WILL NOT cause discomfort to the pet. I can usually tell upon arrival what will be required. “Pelting” or when the matting is so bad, the fur must be shaved to the skin, can cause skin issues such as Hematomas, infections, and sometimes nicks or scratches. Underlying infections, flea infestations, and other concerns may come to my attention. THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR UNFORESEEN ISSUES UNDER MATTING.
If an underlying condition is noticed, you will be notified immediately. If the grooming must be halted due to the injury, payment is still due. Another appointment after the injury has healed can be made, and will require full payment.
EAR ISSUES
If your pet is suffering from an ear infection, I reserve the right to decide whether it is in the pet’s best interest to pluck and clean the ears. I will not be responsible for any veterinarian bills due to ear infections. Cotton is used in the ears during the bath to keep water from entering the ear canal, and ear cleaner will be used only when necessary.
CATS
For my safety, and the cats’ safety, I can only groom cats that have been groomed in the past, and are well behaved. I work alone, and cannot risk handling a cat that may bite. If I arrive and cannot safely groom the cat, I will still charge the full price.
Unless a cat is used to being blown dry, I towel dry the cats only. If the cat doesn’t do well for baths, but can tolerate being trimmed or shaved, I can use a dry shampoo or skip the bath. I WILL NOT CAUSE STRESS OR DISCOMFORT TO ANY CAT.
FLEAS
PLEASE! Be sure your pet is on flea medication that works well, or has NO fleas. There will be an additional charge of $25 for flea or tick removal.
I DO NOT PROVIDE FLEA AND TICK TREATMENTS OR FLEA BATHS.
